Why Farmers Love Sida Glutinous Corn 44
Easy to Grow and Care For
Purple corn seeds are easy to germinate, easy to plant and care for, and do not require much effort. Purple corn can grow well in many types of soil, even in areas with basic care.
Excellent Heat Tolerance
Purple corn is highly drought-tolerant, making it ideal for regions with hot, dry climates. It helps conserve water and reduces the need for frequent irrigation, saving both time and resources.
Nutrient-Rich & Health Benefits
Purple corn is 10 times more nutritious than regular corn, packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants like anthocyanins, supporting digestion, heart health, and offering anti-aging benefits.
How to plant seeds
Step 1 – Preparation and Sowing: Loosen the soil and mix in organic fertilizer or compost for better growth. Plant seeds 2–3 cm deep, spacing 25–30 cm between plants and 60–70 cm between rows.
Note: Glutinous Corn seeds are usually sown directly into the soil rather than being germinated in trays.
Step 2 – Watering and Sunlight: Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, especially during the first 7 days of germination. Corn needs at least 6 hours of sunlight per day.
Step 3 – Fertilizing: - Seedling stage (3–5 leaves): Side-dress with NPK or urea, focusing on nitrogen for rapid growth. - Pre-tasseling stage (6–8 leaves): Apply balanced NPK, increasing phosphorus and potassium to strengthen stems and prepare for ears. Tasseling – Ear filling: Apply potassium and phosphorus to ensure firm ears and full kernels; micronutrients can be sprayed if needed.
Step 4 – Harvesting: Harvest after 68–70 days when the kernels are full and milky.

I planted Sida Corn 44 last month. The seeds germinated fast and each plant has 2–3 ears already. Strong stalks and healthy growth. Will order again next season.
